In a fun twist of events, William Sosbe’s daughter, Caitlyn Sosbe, who, in addition to going to North Carolina State University, also works on a podcast through the TRIO program, Beyond the Bell Tower, recently released an episode (Season 4, Episode 44) that features rising artist Unique Patton. Unique discusses an art installation while working with artist Tom Stanley (Mat Stanley’s dad!). From Tom’s collaboration with children from the Hidden Valley community several years back, together he and the young artists were able to create a public work of art at the Charlotte, NC’s Blue Line Extension Railway that Unique, now a college student in the TRIO program at NC State (who supported the project in middle/high school), gets to reflect on today.
The Beyond the Bell Tower Podcast is one of many initiatives from NC State made possible by the TRIO program, which Caitlyn is a part of. NC State University TRIO Collegiate Programs strive to encourage educational opportunities for undergraduate students by providing academic and personal support to enhance academic skills, increase retention and graduation rates, and facilitate entrance into graduate and professional programs. https://trio.dasa.ncsu.edu/
